With 3 hour, half day, whole day, or even 2 day rides available, you are sure to see some astounding sights. On your ride, you will see a gorgeous waterfall, spectacular overlooks, and the Gauley River.
During the 2 day guided ride, you’ll spend a day on horseback surrounded by the great outdoors of the Mountain State. At night, you can relax under the stars, eating dinner by a campfire. In the morning, you will brave a mini adventure. With Horseshoe Creek Riding Stables, you’ll have the chance to encounter beautiful wildlife as well as the white waters of the Gauley River.
River Expeditions in Cowboy Town
Get the chance to see West Virginia’s extensive wildlife just 1 hour 15 minutes away from your cabin. River Expeditions offers easy, relaxing guided horseback rides for the whole family. River Expeditions works with Cowboy Town – Mongomery Outdoor Adventures, located just 15 minutes north.

Autumn Breeze Stables
Located in Snowshoe, 2.5 hours from our cabins, Autumn Breeze Stables offers many options for horseback riding. You can book rides any where between 30 minutes and 4 hours. They also offer 1-2 night camping rides for those who want to step away from everyday life for a bit. Autumn Breeze offers sleigh and carriage rides for horse and outdoor lovers who would rather just sit back and relax while enjoying the beautiful views.
Enjoy the views of Silver Creek Lake, Spruce Forest, old log roads, the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains of Highland Country Virginia, and the old town of Spruce. Get the chance to ride horseback across stream at Shaffer’s Fork. Or “ride to the top of the world” to overlook Silver Creek, Snowshoe Resort, and Monongahela National Forest.
Mountain Trail Rides
A 3.5 hour trip to Mountain Trail Rides offers a full day of horseback riding, a petting zoo, gemstone mining, and an adventure cave. They have something for everyone in the family. They have hand-led horse or pony rides available for your little ones. Mountain Trail Rides offers 30 minute, 1 hour, or 2 hour horse trail rides available.
